Hi all!
Here we are, already into July! Can you believe it? Just a few announcements this week:
TOMORROW - WEDNESDAY, July 2nd
I apologize for the late notice, but I will not be able to make it to school until noon tomorrow due to an unavoidable conflict. STUDENT WORKERS - we will be working from 12-3; I hope this still works for all of you. GUARD - I hope to be at school by 12, if you beat me here, please see the main office and ask for a custodian to let you in.
4th of JULY PARADE
It's still not too late to sign up for the 4th of July!! Rehearsal is on Thursday from 5-9pm. For rehearsal, you need the following:
- Flip folder and lyre (go to a music store now!)
- Instrument (don't have a marching instrument? Come see Ms. Benson BEFORE 5pm on Thursday!!!)
- Comfortable, cool clothing
- Water/Gatorade
- SNEAKERS with SOCKS. No gym shoes!
For the parade, you will also need black socks and black shoes. Returning members should wear their Copland t-shirt and their Drillmaster shoes. For rising 9th graders, please try to wear all-black shoes. The gentlemen will have an easier time with this than the ladies - we do have a small number of marching shoes you may borrow, but these are on a very limited basis - please ask the uniform ladies when they fit you on Thursday night.
2009 MARCHING SHOW - GAME OVER
The music is already here! Be checking your email in the next few days for pdf files of your music so you can begin learning them. We will have a reading session on JULY 16th from 12-2pm in the FHS Band Room. This reading session is not required, but the reading sessions will VASTLY help you to learn and memorize your part so it is ready to go for band camp in August. Based on how this first reading session goes, we will most likely have another one in late July - stay tuned to your emails!
