Hey, Band!

 

The first event of the year is coming up! Students who are interested in marching in the Fairfax Independence Day parade should report on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights, July 1-3 for parade practice from 6 - 8pm. Report time on July 4 is 7:15am dressed in band-issued polos and their own khaki shorts (for more detailed info https://www.fhsbands.org/uniform-information) ready to board the bus to the staging area for the parade. The bus will return to FHS around 11 a.m. after they finish the parade route. 

 

Any students participating in the parade, must submit an Intent form (if not already done so at the April Interest Meeting) and an Emergency Care Form. BOTH of these forms must be turned in for students to march in the July 4 parade. If there are Medication, Epi-Pen or Inhaler forms your students should keep on hand, please bring those forms as well (must be signed by a doctor). These forms will also be valid for the summer clinic.

 

Also, the $200 Marching Band Pre-Season Fee is due this week. The MySchoolBucks payment option should be available starting July 1 but if it is not, checks can be dropped off in the band room during practices, or the FHS main office from 10am – 1pm daily. Envelopes should be clearly marked “FHS Marching Band.” Make sure your student’s name is in the memo area of the check.

July Calendar:

 

July 1-3: Parade rehearsal 6 - 8pm **Intent forms and Emergency Care forms must be submitted to participate**

 

July 3: Marching Band Pre-Season Fee due

 

July 4: Arrival time 7:15am in uniform with instrument.  Students will be finished and return to FHS around 11am

 

July 11, 18 & 25: Summer Clinic 6– 8pm
