Band Program Registration (2022-23 School Year)

Please follow the steps below to sign up for the 2022-23 Fairfax High School Bands program.

  • All band students should complete STEP 1.

  • Marching and color guard members should additionally complete STEPS 2 and 3.

STEP 1: Register for the band program (by June 3, 2022) 

Who: All band students (concert bands, marching band, color guard)

STEP 2: Complete FCPS Forms (by late July; date TBD)

Who: Marching and color guard students only

How: Please print and sign your completed forms; we will collect them in late July before the start of summer camp (details TBD). We must have all your forms on file before you can participate in camp.

Some of the forms have fillable fields. To keep an electronic copy of your filled-out forms, you will need to download the forms before filling them out. If you don’t need an electronic copy, simply open them, fill them out, and print them immediately.

  • Virginia High School League Pre-Participation Physical Exam Form (optional, but highly recommended)

    • This form allows your student to be seen by the FHS athletic trainers in case of illness or injury while on school grounds.​

    • It must be signed by a doctor (requires a current physical).

    • Physicals can be completed by your child's doctor or at an FHS-sponsored Physical Night, which typically occurs in May for the following year.

STEP 3: Pay Marching Fees (by late July; date TBD2, 2021)

Who: Marching and color guard students only

The fee for this year's marching season is $370.  You will also need to purchase several additional accessories (unless your student already has them), including: 

  • Band polo shirt (for use in warm-weather performances): $15.00

  • Band gloves (wind players only): $3.00

  • Beret (sousaphones only): $10.00

  • Drillmaster shoes (wind & percussion players only): $35.00

  • StylePlus S-Five Performance Shoes (color guard only): $36.00

  • Color guard rifle (color guard only - optional): $40.00

    • The school has an inventory of rifles for students to use. However, if possible, we recommend that color guard members purchase their own personal rifle for improved quality/maintenance and personalization of the equipment to their own performance needs.

All fees and accessories should be paid for using MySchoolBucksHere's how:

  • Log in to MySchoolBucks 

  • Select "School Store Payments."

  • Select "View All."

  • Select "Marching Band Camp Fee" and follow the instructions to add that item to your Basket.

  • (If needed) Select "Marching Band Accessories" and follow the instructions to add what you need to your Basket (you'll have to repeat this step for each accessory you need).

  • Select your Basket (upper right corner) and proceed to payment.

Students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch should email Patric Buchroeder (pwbuchroeder@fcps.edu) before paying to find out what your marching fees will be and how to pay them.
