Patric Buchroeder was appointed Director of Bands for Fairfax High School as of the 2018-2019 school year. As Director of Bands, Mr. Buchroeder oversees every aspect of the wind and percussion programs at Fairfax High School, which includes three concert bands, two jazz ensembles, a competitive marching band, and competitive winter percussion and color guard programs.

“Mr. B” believes passionately that we become better people through art, so he uses the band program to foster leadership skills and teach core values like respect for self and others, commitment, self-discipline, and integrity to all his students. His goal is to help every student succeed to their fullest potential and develop the skills to make and enjoy the best music possible! 


Previously, Mr. B served for four years as Director of Bands for Chillicothe City Schools in Chillicothe, OH. He holds a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Instrumental Emphasis) from Ohio University. His primary conducting teachers include Mallory Thompson and Andrew Trachsel, and his primary percussion teachers include Roger Braun and Guy Remanko.
