September 23-30, 2018 Annapolis Competition!
IMPORTANT DATES THIS WEEK
Tuesday and Wednesday, September 25 & 26: After-school rehearsals at FHS, 3:30-6pm (Wednesday on blacktop, pending line painting)
Thursday, September 27: Rehearsals 6-9pm (on turf field)
Friday, September 28: Rehearsals 3:30-5:45pm (Chick-fil-A sandwiches served 5:45-6:30pm. Students should place their order Thursday on the order forms and bring $3 on Friday. Boosters will deliver the sandwiches and also provide chips, Gatorade, and dessert for the students). Rehearsals 6:30-9pm (not mandatory but highly encouraged if available!)
(The weather the past few weeks has been challenging, and this week continues the cycle. Because of the poor conditions on the practice field, Mr. Buchroeder has arranged for the following changes in schedule to ameliorate the situation and maximize practice time before this Saturday's competition. Expect some time out on the regular practice field in the rain, so dress accordingly! Students are encouraged to wear old shoes, and wear whatever clothes they feel will be comfortable, warm, and dry at least, as is possible).

Abbreviated Competition Schedule:
Eat a large late lunch before you arrive!
2:30pm Truck loading crew reports, load truck
3:30pm ALL MB MEMBERS and parent volunteers report to band room
4:15pm Truck Leaves
4:30pm Buses leave FHS for Annapolis
6pm Buses and truck arrive at competition
7pm FHS warm up
7:50pm FHS MB and PIT at stadium gate
8:05pm FHS Performance time
9:45pm MB & CG return to buses and truck after awards; load truck and buses
10:45pm Depart competition for FHS
12:15am Arrive FHS, unpack buses & unload truck

US Naval Academy, Navy-Marine Corps Stadium - 304 Farragut Road, Annapolis, MD 20401 map
FHS Performance Time is 8pm, Awards at 9pm
Advance discounted tickets for Saturday's competition will be sold Wednesday between 5-6 PM and Saturday between 3:30-4 PM in the band room. Tickets purchased on Sat. are only sold to adults using them. Tickets cannot be distributed at the competition. Discounted tickets are $21 cash, exact change much appreciated. SPECTATOR ENTRANCE FEE: $25 cash and $10 parking fee, concessions available, bring cash

Uniform News Competition Saturday, September 29 - FULL UNIFORM:
Thank you to parents and students for taking good care of your uniforms and wearing them sharply with pride last Saturday! Please make sure they're hung up properly and aired out to get ready for next weekend's competition in Annapolis! Please let us know of any uniform issues early in the week so we have time to fix them! Thank you!
Garment Bag - please bring this with you to all competitions!
Bibbers (wear non-bulky shorts underneath)
Solid black calf length athletic socks (see picture - no ankles showing)
Drill Masters (special black marching shoes)
Hats/gloves - Please keep your gloves in the hat boxes. Every student who wears gloves will be given one new pair for the season. If you lose that pair of gloves, you will get to find a used pair from our bag of "used gloves".
Plumes - will be distributed at the competition site just prior to the performance by the uniform parents, they will be collected after you're done performing.
HAIR - Must be up off of the collar in a bun inside the hat, headbands (same as your hair color) help!
NO MAKEUP (except Color Guard)
PLEASE PUT YOUR NAMES ON YOUR SHIRTS & SHOES!
LOST BAND POLO or SHOW SHIRT?:
Make sure to have your student check in the band Lost & Found First!
Replacement band polos ($15 each) and show shirts ($12 each) can be purchased on My School Bucks (credit card) or by writing a check to FHS Band Boosters. Please let us know ahead of time if you need to replace your shirt because we do not have an unlimited supply of sizes….we may need to reorder.

October 23: Masquerade concert with orchestra, 7pm at FHS
October 26: Home Football game vs. South County (Middle School night)
October 28: Mosby Woods Parade
November 2: Home Game vs Woodson (Senior night)
November 3: VBODA (Band Competition)
November 3: End of Season band party
November 15: Band Booster Meeting at FHS, 7pm
December 11: Winter Concert at FHS, 7pm
